Local XML sitemap review

Catch sitemap.xml problems before search engines do.

Inspect sitemap structure, absolute URLs, duplicate loc entries, and protocol limits locally before publishing an XML sitemap.

* Nothing is uploaded. SitemapLens parses the XML in this browser tab and never fetches the listed URLs.

Local XML sitemap review

Publish a sitemap search engines can read

01

Copy the exact XML served from the site's root sitemap URL.

02

Check that every loc is an absolute HTTP(S) URL and appears only once.

03

After publishing, open the live file and use your search platform's sitemap report to check URL responses.

FAQ

What stays private?

Does SitemapLens crawl my URLs?

No. It only parses the XML you paste and makes no network requests.

What is the 50,000 URL limit?

A single sitemap file can contain up to 50,000 URLs under the common sitemap protocol. Larger sets should use an index and separate sitemap files.

Does a valid sitemap make a page indexable?

No. HTTP status, robots rules, canonical links, noindex directives, and page quality still affect indexing.
